If you have lived in New York City, or simply visited the place, you have probably used the Metrocard, which allows you to travel the subways and buses of the Big Apple. Many times there’s small change left on the card, but there’s not much one can do with it and most people throw the cards away at that point.
One of the more brilliant ideas I have seen is the proposal for a kiosk that you can use to donate your Metrocard leftovers to charity. The idea is amazingly simple and was conceived by three graduate students at NYU’s Interactive Communications Program.
